COMPETITIONS

IMTA Irish Junior Mathematics Competition is a multiple choice test for 1st Year students. The First Round is held in each participating school in March and based on results students are invited to participate in the Regional Finals held throughout the county in May. 

Peter's Problem is a competition established in memory of Dublin Branch member Peter Tiernan; it is sponsored by Engineers Ireland STEPS.  Students tackle an extended problem, set in an interesting "real world" context and designed so as to be accessible to Junior Certificate Ordinary level students.  

Maths Eyes Poster Competition is a competition open to students of all ages. Students create a Maths Eyes style poster using a photograph taken in their local area and add an appropriate tagline highlighting the maths they see in their poster.

The Pi Quiz is a team competition for Junior Certificate Higher Level students held throughout the country in April. 

IAMTA Junior Problem Solver Quiz is a team competition for 3rd and 4th Year students. The Regional Rounds are held throughout the country in January and the National Final is held in March. 

IMTA Team Math Competition is a team competition for up to four students from senior cycle with questions based on the Leaving Certificate Higher Level syllabus. John Hooper Statistics Competition is a national poster competition open to teams of two to three students up to 18 years of age. 

Prism Competition is a national PRoblem solving competition for Irish Second level Mathematicians organised by NUIGalway, during Maths Week in October.
